Pulp applications are more akin to a chemical process and hot and chemical-laden airstreams are common, necessitating fans constructed from corrosion resistant materials such as polypropylene, stainless steel or other high-tech alloys such as Haslteloy.  Applications in the papermaking process such as high pressure dryers are less vulnerable but may require to be fabricated of stainless steel.
